Hal has over 25 years of Sales and Management experience in the First Responder Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Sector.

Hal started his career in 1999 working at Tyler Fire Equipment in Elmira, NY as the Inside Equipment Sales Manager and over time working into different roles as Territory Sales Manager for Equipment/Ambulance Sales when the company expanded to Albany and Syracuse locations and overseeing 18 Sales Reps in New York and Pennsylvania.

In 2017 HALO First Responder Products was formed and continues to add new products lines to better assist the customers of the Southern Tier of NY and Northern Tier of PA.

Rick grew up around the fire service, his father being the Chief of the Nimmonsburg Fire Company.

In 1986, when Rick turned 16, he also joined the fire company. In 1993 Rick was hired by the City of Binghamton Fire Department. He became a Paramedic in 1998 and advanced up through the ranks to Assistant Chief in 2008.

He served 13 years as the department’s training chief and his last 3 years as a Shift Commander/Duty Chief. Rick retired from the BFD on February 24, 2024. Rick has been a New York State Fire Instructor since 2016 and has rejoined the volunteer service with the Vestal Fire Department.

Rick brings over 38 years of fire and EMS experience to HALO FRP from both the volunteer and career sides of the fire service.
